KX TrA exhibits an emission line spectrum similar to RR Tel, as reported in Carlson & Henize (1974). Historical light curve data presented by Liller (1974) reveals multiple maxima. IUE data resembles those of V1016 Cyg and HM Sge, both symbiotic novae (Feibelman, 1988). However, Allen (1988) claimed that KX TrA behaviour is not unique within the class of symbiotic stars.
