Classified as a likely PN in the HASH Database of PNe (Parker et al., 2016), in the notes section it is suggested that the object is a possible symbiotic star, referencing Miszalski et al. (2009). However, Miszalski et al. (2009) did not classify M3-13 as a symbiotic star candidate. The spectrum of M3-13 shows Hα and Hβ, along with strong detection of [O III]. He I and [S II] lines are faint.
