First mentioned as a symbiotic star in Bond (1976) with a reference to Allen & Glass, 1974. However, Belczyński et al. (2000) noted that in Allen & Glass (1974), the star is not referenced as a symbiotic system. Nevertheless, it is classified as a class S object there. Allen & Glass (1974) denoted probable symbiotic stars by this class. The central star is suggested to be a possible Mira (Bond (1976)) or a late-type star (Acker et al., 1987) in the center of the planetary nebula PK 037-6 2.
